SAMSUNG E&A opens a communication platform for their new future energy businesses

SAMSUNG E&A (formerly Samsung Engineering), a total solutions provider for the global energy industry, announced today that it is opening a channel of communication in the energy transition sector and accelerating its business advancement.


SAMSUNG E&A announced on 28 August 2024, that it will hold the 1st E&Able Tech Forum, ‘A place to communicate about the new businesses of the energy future’, at the GEC (Global Engineering Center) of its headquarters in Sangil-dong, Gangdong-gu, Seoul on the 5th of next month. The forum is expected to be attended by approximately 250 people, including global partners in the energy transition field, domestic and international clients, universities, and venture capital firms.


‘E&Able’ is a compound word created that ‘SAMSUNG E&A ‘with their technology ‘ is “Able” to develop future businesses.

This forum was established to inform potential customers of the technology solutions and roadmaps that SAMSUNG E&A is investing in and is further developing in response to the rapidly accelerating energy transition era to explore new business opportunities with participating companies.


SAMSUNG E&A changed its name to SAMSUNG E&A this year during its future planning process to reflect the changing business environment and future expandability in the era of energy transition. SAMSUNG E&A is establishing a mid- to the long-term core strategy of ‘addressing societal challenges with technology’ and is accelerating the promotion of new businesses in the energy transition sector.

This forum will be held under the theme of ‘Fostering Bridges to Enable a Sustainable Future’ and will consist of technical presentations and insight sessions by experts in each field.


The technology presentation session will begin with an announcement of SAMSUNG E&A’s energy transition technology roadmap, followed by presentations on seven major technology solutions in the energy transition and environment fields prepared by global partners and its research institute, the Environmental Technology Center: ▷Carbon capture (absorption type), ▷Carbon capture (adsorption type), ▷Blue hydrogen, ▷Green hydrogen, ▷e-fuel synthesis, ▷Organic waste treatment, and ▷Sewage reuse.


The insight sessions will discuss and share global trends and development directions in the energy transition field through panel discussions with experts in each field on topics such as carbon capture, hydrogen, and e-fuels.


A SAMSUNG E&A spokesperson said, “To secure preemptive business opportunities in the energy transition era, SAMSUNG E&A is making company-wide efforts to secure core value chain technologies such as hydrogen, carbon capture, ammonia synthesis/decomposition, and e-fuels.” Further added: “SAMSUNG E&A will use this forum as an opportunity to communicate and collaborate closely with stakeholders to accelerate commercialization and achieve tangible results.”
