SAMSUNG E&A reports Q2 operating profit of KRW 273.1 billion… up 51% year-on-year

- Revenue of KRW 2.6093 trillion, Net Profit of KRW 182.5 billion, announced on 23 July

- Solid first-half results, full-year target expected to be exceeded

- Balanced growth across the three-pillar portfolio: Hydrocarbon, Advanced Tech, and New Energy

SAMSUNG E&A, a total solutions provider for the global energy industry, announced its preliminary Q2 2026 financial results today, reporting revenue of KRW 2.6093 trillion, an operating profit of KRW 273.1 billion, and a net profit of KRW 182.5 billion (consolidated K-IFRS). Compared to the same period last year, revenue, operating profit, and net profit rose 19.8%, 51.0%, and 28.8%, respectively. New orders in Q2 totaled KRW 3 trillion.

First-half results were equally solid. SAMSUNG E&A recorded revenue of KRW 4.8767 trillion, an operating profit of KRW 461.3 billion, and a net profit of KRW 345.8 billion for the first half, marking year-on-year increases of 14.0%, 36.4%, and 15.7%, respectively. By division, Hydrocarbon posted KRW 2.2031 trillion, Advanced Tech KRW 1.4122 trillion, and New Energy KRW 1.2614 trillion, continuing balanced growth across all three.

The company attributed the improved results to the full-scale recognition of revenue from large-scale projects and improved project cost management. Its strategy of selective, high-quality order intake combined with execution differentiation through innovation is now translating into tangible results. In particular, the company emphasized continued cost improvements driven by execution differentiation based on innovative technologies such as AI, automation, and modularization.

New orders through the first half totaled KRW 7.6 trillion. Hydrocarbon secured KRW 3.4 trillion, while Advanced Tech and New Energy secured KRW 2.4 trillion and KRW 1.8 trillion, respectively. Key awards included an overseas Hydrocarbon Plant and a Water Treatment Plant in the Middle East (details undisclosed at the client's request). The order backlog also rose slightly from the previous quarter to KRW 22.7 trillion, equivalent to roughly 2.5 years of work (based on last year's revenue of KRW 9 trillion).

This signals a positive outlook for achieving the annual goals. Earlier this year, SAMSUNG E&A set annual targets of KRW 12 trillion in new orders, KRW 10 trillion in revenue, and KRW 800 billion in operating profit. Both new orders and revenue are currently tracking ahead of target, and operating profit is also expected to meet its goal seamlessly as second-half project revenue recognition accelerates.

A spokesperson from SAMSUNG E&A stated, "Balanced growth across our three business areas — Hydrocarbon, Advanced Tech, and New Energy — allowed us to grow both revenue and operating profit. We are well-positioned to achieve our full-year targets through high-quality project wins and continued cost competitiveness".
